A Classic CONSERVATORY

Replacing an original porch – this new English Conservatory provides a year-round room for relaxation and entertaining.  This green-conscious client asked for a geothermal system to replace their gas-fired boiler – and in the process of updating the house, was able to warm this new space with a radiantly heated marble slab floor.

Connected to the Living Room via original French doors, the Conservatory also became the perfect spot for casual meals while overlooking the lap-pool, extensive gardens and large stone terraces from earlier WPA renovations.

The National Home Builders Association (NAHB) gave this design the Cysalis Award for Conservatory Additions.

MORE

Artisan ironwork and teak add a special finish to the balconies and staircase from the owners’ second floor suite.
